Wow! I love your spin on the rose spell!

Though I dread that moment when the memory spell is finally broken.

Totally cute and romantic. The rose spell was one of the things that I wish we could have seen completed in the show, so it's nice to see you've written it here.

Tabula Rasa is one of those episodes that can be interpreted in many different ways (which is part of what makes it so fun). In my mind, the characters were stripped of all their memories, hangups, and the most basic roots of their personality - and acted quite differently as a direct result. Like Tara sort of taking charge in the tunnels and leading the group, etc.

Here your characters seem to retain most of their Selves, with the exception of their memories. I'm enjoying that, since it's lending itself very well to the girls (re)kindling their relationship.

The spell still lingers forbodingly in the background, though. It makes me feel...kinda blechy. Can't wait to see where you take this.

Happy Birthday!
and Thanks

A quick reply to my adoring fans (tee hee) and then it's back to the ol' grindstone. I'll have an update today or tomorrow. Have a good one!

cantbefredless: Yay. Loving it, huh? Hehe, Dusty was a particularly random and fun addition for me. I'm glad you're enjoying everything, and I will have an update for you soon. And thankyou for your happy birthday to me! ;-)

The Rose24: Thankyou. I was trying to decide for a while what spell I wanted to use, but I finally decided it would be great to explore the rose spell. I totally understand the dread. But keep in mind, it will have a happy ending, as only the KB can deliver.

Dianneswillowtree: Hehe, thankyou for the dancing pink elephant. Glad you love it.

JujuDeRoussie: Thankyou! I really enjoyed my b-day. I'm glad you enjoyed the gift. Hehe, vicarious Willow and Tara smoochies are the best gift one can get. Hmm, speculations on Dusty, huh? Well, all I can say to that is, wait and see ;-) Once again, thankyou for the feedback.

Miramel: Hehe, ya it was! Glad you liked it.

Tujeky: I really enjoyed writing the rose spell, and I also was always eager to see how it would have played out. I interpereted it both ways actually. I think that sometimes they tended to stray for their character personalities, but then you also had the sort of instinctual things. Buffy regaining her fighting skills and Willow and Tara having an instant attraction.

The spell still lingers forbodingly in the background, though. It makes me feel...kinda blechy.

Lol. I get that. And it will be there for a while longer. But once again, I promise a happy ending. Thanks for your excellent feedback!

Emms: Eh, no worries about missing updates. Hope you had fun catching up, and there'll be another for ya today or tomorrow. Thanks for your post ;-)

Hey, Happy Birthday..
I'm really loving this story too. The chemistry as always is palpable. And I appreciate the promise of a happy ending. Those are always nice in the W/T fanfic world...One of the things I like about the Kitten board. Its a safe refuge for us W/T fans.
Anyway, I'm really looking forward to your next updat. The writing is terrific and it really captures the essences of W/T and the fact that no matter what the circumstance, their love was always there as an undercurrent. Thanks again. :wtkiss

Thankyou so much for the Happy Birthday. I totally agree with you about how a happy ending is great on this board. It is a safe refuge, and allows all of the Willow and Tara fans to experience the happy ending that should have always been privy to.

The writing is terrific and it really captures the essences of W/T and the fact that no matter what the circumstance, their love was always there as an undercurrent.

Thankyou so much for the compliments. I'll have an update tonight or tomorrow. Once again, a huge thankyou ;-)

Ok. So first off, some small notes. I've only written up to chapter 6 so far, and school is keeping me pretty busy, so the updates are probably going to be coming slower from now on. Now worries though, it will be finished eventually. Anyways, I hope ya'll enjoy this chapter. Please note the rating change. This is the first time I've written anything like this, so I really hope I did alright. Once again, I hope you all enjoy it ;-)

Tabula Rasa Perpetua

Chapter 5- Passion

“Wow.” Joan opened and closed her mouth. “Wow,” she said again.

Dawn blinked her eyes, her mouth also shutting with an audible snap. In the center of the room, Willow and Tara were still surrounded by floating rose petals, their lips connected in a passionate kiss. They slowly parted, their eyes opening to gaze at each other. Instead of separating fully, they leaned forward once more to rest their foreheads against each other. Willow had a goofy grin plastered across her face, while Tara was wearing a half-smile. Dawn finally pulled out of her trance and rose from the bench to walk across the room. The movement snapped Willow and Tara from their moment, causing them to part and stand up slowly. The action caused their concentration to waiver. The rose petals, that had until then been suspended in circular pattern in the air, once again obeyed the rules of gravity. They fell to the ground, as did the now bare stem.

Willow looked down at their still conjoined hands before moving her gaze upwards into Tara’s eyes. Tara winked at her and turned her eyes briefly towards the doorway. She giggled at the sight. Dawn was energetically waving a hand in front of Alex, who was sporting a glazed look. Joan still looked similar to a fish.

Directing her stare back towards Willow’s own, she smiled again and squeezed Willow’s hands. “So, you know what this means,” Tara said, a teasing smile gracing her face.

Willow’s smile turned into a small pout, a confused look settling in her eyes. She shook her head. “Um, no?”

Tara leaned closer, letting her breath mingle with Willow’s. “It means,” she whispered, “that you’re magic.” She smiled at Willow’s intake of breath and then pressed her lips to Willow’s briefly. Tara pulled back, happy to see Willow sporting a glazed look of her own.

“So, guess we have two witches in the family,” Joan said, her mouth finally having stopped resembling a guppy’s. She slapped Alex on the arm and was pleased when he stopped looking at Willow and Tara, instead turning to glare at Joan while rubbing his now injured limb.

“Jeez, Joan. You do have super powers, remember?” He grimaced, knowing that he would probably have a hand-shaped bruise on his shoulder tomorrow.

The front door of the shop opened, signified by the ringing of the small bell at the top of the frame. The group left the back room, Willow and Tara trailing behind, their fingers still intertwined. Anya stood at the front of the shop, a confused expression on her face. “Why were you all back there? Did I miss anything?”

Willow and Tara blushed while Dawn and Joan laughed loudly. Alex regained his glassy eyed look as Anya tilted her head to the side as if trying to examine the situation from another point of view. Looking behind Alex, she saw Willow and Tara still holding hands. “Oh, I get it. Did the lesbians have sex or something?”

Tara turned even brighter shades of red, her complexion matching something akin to a strawberry. Both Dawn and Joan stopped laughing immediately while Alex seemed to retreat even farther into his fantasy. Willow couldn’t seem to speak properly, her anger at Anya hindering intelligent thought. “You…what…I can’t…oh, Goddess.” She shook her head and looked over at Tara, but the sight just enraged her more. She stepped forwards, intending to beat the tactless woman, but was instead stopped by two exceedingly strong arms holding her in place. Joan held Willow back, but was surprised to find that it was actually slightly difficult. The red-head’s anger had infused her with some super powers of her own.

“Anya, please. Just apologize to the nice witch,” Alex pleaded.

“Oh, you’re a witch?” She paused and moved her attention to Tara. “Is she a witch too? Were you two doing a spell?” She leered at the blonde Wicca in the back, secretly finding it amusing to aggravate Willow.

“Ok then!” Joan shouted slightly, trying to change the subject in order to keep Willow from murdering Anya. “How’s Rupert then? Doing good?”

Anya frowned for a moment, saddened that she could not continue playing with Willow, but then regained her smile as she thought about her earlier act of vengeance. “Oh, yes. He woke up once, but then I hit him over the head when he said he was leaving me. The bedpan worked quite well.” She smiled brightly, her eyes sparkling at the memory. Taking in the shocked expressions of the group, she sighed loudly. “Oh, don’t worry. It was empty.” She paused again, confused when she saw the even more stunned expressions on their faces. “Oh, I get it. You wanted to know if he’d be ok. That jerk will be fine. He’s just staying overnight for observation but we can get him tomorrow.”

Willow stared slack jawed at Anya, unable to believe the things she was saying. “We should separate. Do research back at our separate houses.” At Joan’s confused look she gave her pleading eyes. “Now. Please.” Joan finally recognized the request for what it was; a plea for help to get away from the infuriating woman for a little while.

“Sounds like a good plan actually.” Joan smiled at Willow and winked at her, glad to be of help. “How about we head to our respective homes and then meet at my house tomorrow morning. We can compare notes.” Alex, Tara and Dawn nodded their heads in silent agreement.

Alex looked over at Anya and smiled, secretly excited that she and Rupert had a fight. He cleared his throat and walked closer to Anya. “Do you need a place to stay?”

Anya stared into his eyes for a moment and then returned the smile. “Yes, that would be fine. I’m not sure where I live and I don’t want to stay another night in the hospital sleeping in a chair next to my ex-fiancé.”

Alex did an internal happy dance and turned back to the group. Willow looked at him, confused as to why anyone would offer Anya a place to stay. She shook her head and walked back towards Tara, Joan having already released her. Willow smiled at Tara, whose face had almost returned to its normal color, and took her hand once more, intertwining their fingers. Tara returned the smile with a slight one of her own, still too embarrassed to manage much more. Joan looked around, pleased that the mini-apocalypse had been diverted and walked over to the table, gathering up the books they had been reading. She handed several to Alex and Anya while still managing to hold back a hefty number for her group.

“So, tomorrow then? Around ten o’clock?” Alex and Anya nodded and then left the shop, the bell once again announcing the door’s movement.

-------------------------

Alex and Anya walked out of the shop. He walked over to the car that he had found last night at his apartment complex. Last night, at realizing that his key ring held car keys, he walked out into the tenant parking lot and pressed the alarm. He opened the passenger door for Anya and smiled as she sat down. Closing the door quickly, he walked to his side, getting in and buckling his seat belt.

Alex turned the key in the ignition and moved the car into drive. Ten minutes later, the car was parked and Alex was leading Anya up to his apartment. He unlocked the door and pushed it open for Anya. She stepped inside and walked to the center of the living room.

“This is very nice, Alex.” She smiled at him and then walked into the kitchen. Alex followed behind her. He had intended to show her the apartment anyway; he had just assumed he would be the one leading the tour. She opened the fridge and peered inside. She picked up the same piece of cheese Alex had the night before and smelled it. Her face lit up with a smile as she broke off a piece and tasted it. Her smile brightened with her obvious appreciation for the dairy product.

Alex watched with curiosity. Having already tried the disgusting piece of food yesterday, he was already confused as to why it was in his fridge. His mind slowly made the connection and a light bulb went off inside his brain. He suddenly grabbed Anya’s hand and pulled her towards the bedroom. She looked at him, a startled expression on her face, and a piece of foul-smelling cheese in her other hand. “What are you doing?” she asked.

Alex walked over to the dresser and pulled out the women’s lingerie he had found the night before. He thrust it in Anya’s direction. She looked at him, once again exceedingly confused. “You wanted to show me your drag costume?”

Alex sighed and shook his head. “Just try it on.”

Anya shrugged her shoulders and grabbed the garment. She walked into the bathroom and returned minutes later, her casual clothes now replaced with lacy pajamas. She looked down at her ensemble and then up at Alex. “I wasn’t engaged to Rupert, was I?”

Alex felt his mouth go dry as he gazed at Anya. He cleared his throat. “I don’t think so.” He moved forward and stopped inches from Anya.

Anya looked up at him, her eyes finding the brown of his and smiled. “Then the engagement isn’t off.” She leaned closer to him.

Alex shook his head and leaned closer as well. Their lips met in the middle, and the only thing Alex could think was that it was like coming home.

-------------------------

Joan turned to look at the rest of the women. “Well then, that was fun, what with Willow about to kill Anya and all.” Willow gave her an un-amused glare and she countered with a sheepish smile. “It’s sunny out and I think I remember how to get back. You guys mind walking?”

Tara finally regained the ability to talk and vocalized her agreement. “A walk sounds great.” She smiled brightly at Willow and squeezed her hand. The two women walked out of the shop hand-in-hand, oblivious to the outside world. Dawn followed them, unexplainably happy for the two women who so obviously liked each other. Joan smiled and left the shop, pausing to lock the door with the spare key Anya had left her last night. She followed the group and basked in their good spirits, the sun warming her face as she walked down the street.

-------------------------

“You should go, until we figure all of this out.”

Randy looked at Joan from his cot. He had spent all day down in the basement, hiding from the sun while the rest of the group had researched. It was a little past sun down; time for him to go pay a visit to the butcher’s. “Bollocks. I can help, and you know it.”

“Help with what?” Joan asked. “We don’t even know what’s going on.”

“Well, ya. But what am I supposed to do? Go find a crypt and wait for you to come round, tell me when we’ve got a chance at getting our memories back?”

“Um, that was my general plan.” Joan smiled slightly and shrugged her shoulders. “Look, we’ve already got our hands full with the research. I really don’t want to try explaining the whole ‘vampire with a soul’ thing to them.”

Randy opened his mouth to argue but Joan stopped him with a raised hand. “It would just be easier if you go somewhere else until we figure something out. Get some blood from the butcher’s, kill evil vampires, do whatever. Ok?”

Randy stared hard at Joan for a few moments and then nodded his head. He picked up his brown tweed coat and stood up from the cot. He walked up the stairs but stopped near the top and turned around. “You know what I was thinking last night?” Joan shook her head and he continued. “Your name, Joan. Doesn’t suit you at all.”

She smiled. “I looked through some books last night. My name’s not Joan. It’s Buffy.” She smiled again and shrugged her shoulders. “I liked Joan better.”

“Buffy, huh? Now that suits you.” He returned the smile with a slight one of his own and then turned around. He walked up the rest of the stairs, turned the corner, and disappeared out of sight.

-------------------------

Willow reached her arm out in an attempt to pull Tara closer. She grumbled when her arm failed to make contact. Peeking open her eye slightly, she cast a glance towards the other side of the bed and grumbled again as she realized Tara was no longer in bed. She rubbed her eyes and sat up. “Tara?” She cleared her throat and tried again after receiving no answer. “Tara, sweetie?”

Willow looked around the room blearily. She noted the bright green numbers of the clock on the nightstand announcing it was a little past midnight. They had gone to sleep about an hour earlier after researching almost all day. Her survey of the room stopped when she found Tara’s form silhouetted against the window, her body outlined in the moon’s pale light. Willow’s mouth hung open slightly as she took in the sight before her. Tara was wearing a cream colored silk nightgown that looked almost translucent in the light; her blonde hair held a preternatural glow. She rose from the bed and walked over to Tara as if in a trance. Willow came within inches of Tara, her hand outstretched in an attempt to touch the beauty before her. She froze as she realized Tara was crying.

“Tara?” Willow asked again, unsure of what to do.

“I couldn’t sleep.”

Willow was almost startled when she heard Tara’s voice. She blinked slowly. “Are you alright?” Willow asked softly.

Tara shook her head slightly. “No, I’m not. I don’t know what to do.” She sighed and turned towards Willow. Without thinking, she leaned forwards and pressed her lips against Willow’s. Tara pulled away after a few moments and stared deeply into Willow’s eyes. The room was dark, but the moonlight shining through the window lit up the red-head’s eyes perfectly. “It doesn’t make sense. But all I can think is that I should tell you, whether or not you feel the same way.”

“What are you-” Tara once again pressed against Willow, their mouths moving against each other. She deepened the kiss, gently pushing her tongue inside of Willow’s inviting mouth. The kiss ended and they parted slightly, but before Willow was able to say anything, Tara spoke.

“I love you.”

Her eyes grew wide as she realized the words that had tumbled from her mouth. Yes, she had been thinking about telling her, but to actually say it was a different matter entirely. Willow’s mouth hung open, her eyes even wider than Tara’s. For several excruciating moments, neither woman spoke. The silence was both deafening and too quiet. Very softly, almost too softly, she heard Willow speak.

“You love me? I mean, you love me. No, I mean, you love me?” She blinked, as if trying to figure out what was going on. “You can’t. I mean, you could, but you can’t. Because if you did, that would just be…” She stopped again.

Tara didn’t breathe, couldn’t breathe. What would it be? Would it be horrible? A nightmare? Did she think it wasn’t the truth? “Willow?” She only had the breath to utter her name before succumbing to silence once again.

Willow gazed at Tara’s face, drinking in every curve, every facet. She saw the hurt floating in Tara’s eyes, and could almost hear the blonde’s thoughts, wondering if everything was about to come crashing down. And without even thinking, she said the first thing that came to mind. “It would just be… perfect.” She smiled, her lips curling until a full blown grin covered her face. “I don’t know how this happened, and it doesn’t matter.” She leaned forward and captured Tara’s mouth in a passionate embrace before pulling back. “I love you,” she whispered.

Tara smiled just as widely and returned the kiss. She moved against Willow’s lips and felt Willow mirror her movements. Tara pushed Willow backwards, stopping when she felt the other woman’s movements impeded by the bed. She pushed her back softly and smiled when Willow fell onto the mattress. With an immense amount of courage, Tara spoke. “Willow, I love you. Make love to me?” she whispered. As soon as she asked the question a blush ran across her cheeks, her previous bravery forgotten instantly.

Willow looked up at Tara slack-jawed. She gazed into the blonde’s eyes and smiled brightly. Sitting up, she inched her hands towards Tara’s nightgown, never taking her eyes off Tara’s. “I love you Tara. And I could think of nothing more perfect than making love to you.” Without another word, her hands closed the distance and she ran her fingers along Tara’s nightshirt. She removed one hand and placed it on Tara’s cheek, gently pulling her down. Their lips connected slowly and sweetly, neither woman wanting to rush.

Tara removed her lips from Willow’s mouth and trailed kisses across her jaw. She pulled her earlobe into her mouth as she felt Willow’s hand leave her cheek and make a slow trek down her body. She felt Willow brush her fingertips along the side of her breast and gasped at the contact. The fingers were removed just as quickly as Willow continued her path, finally resting her hand on Tara’s hip. She bit down softly on the flesh in her mouth and felt Willow’s grip tighten on her waist.

Willow moved her hands along Tara’s stomach and then began to move lower. She felt Tara’s thighs beneath her palms and then stopped when she reached the end of Tara’s nightgown. She grasped the ends of the nightshirt in both hands and began to pull upwards; making sure that she could feel Tara’s skin the entire way. As she reached the underside of Tara’s breasts she looked up into the blonde’s eyes. “Are you sure?” she asked softly.

“Always,” Tara whispered huskily. She looked at Willow with a gaze so full of love and desire that Willow had to stop herself from ripping the nightshirt off. Instead, she inched the shirt up the rest of the way and gasped as Tara’s breasts were exposed to her for the first time that she could remember. She gently pulled the nightshirt the rest of the way off and dropped it to the floor. Willow moved one hand to Tara’s back as she moved the other to one of her breasts. She laid her palm on Tara’s flesh and smiled at the gasp she provoked.

Tara’s knees were becoming weak as she felt Willow’s touch upon her skin. She gasped again when Willow moved her fingertips across her breast. Realizing that if she didn’t lie down soon she would fall, Tara gently removed Willow’s hands and moved past her to lie down on the bed. Willow looked towards Tara and smiled before joining her. They gazed at each other, lying side by side, suddenly very nervous despite the heated touches they had shared just moments before. Somehow, lying down on the bed had cemented what was about to happen.

Tara looked into Willow’s eyes, and saw the same anxiety she was feeling reflected back at her. She moved her hand to Willow’s hip and pulled closer to her, until there was barely a wall of air between them. She tilted her head and their lips connected, the kiss almost immediately deepening. Tara moved her hand to the bottom of Willow’s shirt and tugged upwards. She felt Willow smile into their kiss and then sighed slightly as their lips separated. The sigh was cut off as she realized Willow was just removing the shirt. They reconnected as the garment was lost and Tara smiled at Willow’s lack of bra. Their bodies pushed closer until flesh met flesh. Tara moaned into Willow’s mouth at the contact, and moved her hand up Willow’s now naked skin. She moved upwards and stopped at Willow’s breasts, rubbing her fingers across each nipple. She rolled each nub in her fingers, the actions eliciting a low moan from Willow. Her other hand flew to the back of Willow’s head, her fingers threading through the auburn hair of her lover.

Without warning, Willow rolled Tara onto her back and moved a leg in between the blonde’s. She heard Tara groan at the contact of her leg pressing into the blonde’s already hot center. She moved against Tara while kissing her passionately, their tongues wrestling as their bodies danced. Willow reached under Tara and unclasped her bra. She pulled the straps down and off her shoulders, removing the bra from the fleshy globes. Moving one hand to Tara’s chest, she grasped at Tara’s waist while her fingertips gently squeezed one of Tara’s nipples.

Tara had almost lost all capacity for rational thought. She squirmed beneath Willow, pushing her hips up to meet each of Willow’s movements. She desperately pushed against Willow’s thigh, trying to relieve the ache in her center, her clit throbbing more and more with each push. Finally, she could take no more. She twisted out from under Willow and moved her hands immediately to the red-head’s underwear. Willow gasped when she felt Tara pull off her panties and throw them across the room. The gasp became a moan when Tara laid her hand across Willow’s hot flesh, Tara’s palm immediately becoming coated in Willow’s arousal.

Tara ran her fingertips along the wet lips of Willow’s center. She teased the red-head’s opening, gently pushing the tip of one finger in before pulling it out almost immediately. She could hear Willow’s heavy pants, and could feel her hips in their almost frantic movement. Willow pushed up desperately as she tried to take Tara in. Her pants turned to frustrated groans and moans, and then the moans turned into a silent scream. Tara pushed two fingers into Willow and groaned at the feeling of being inside her. The feeling was so intense, her senses overloaded with the sensation of filling Willow. She continued to thrust, slowly at first before picking up speed. She could feel Willow meeting each movement with an upward thrust of her hips.

Willow moved her hands to Tara’s back and moved downwards, her fingers catching in Tara’s panties. She divested Tara of the garment and moaned as she laid her own hand over Tara’s flesh. They continued to kiss passionately as their breasts rubbed together, their nipples hard and rubbing against each other as they moaned into each other’s mouths. “Oh goddess, Willow.” Tara almost growled the words, her arousal dripping from her center and onto Willow’s hand. She moaned loudly as she felt Willow mirror her own movements and push a finger into her, quickly followed by another.

Their passions rose quickly, until both women were panting heavily, desperate for the release that was so close. Willow continued to plunge into Tara as she felt Tara increase her speed. At the same time, Willow and Tara felt their climaxes rocket through their bodies, each woman feeding off the other’s passion. Fingers stilled and breathing slowed as each woman came down from her peak.

Willow lied down on her back and felt Tara lay an arm across her stomach. “Goddess. That was-”

“Amazing,” Tara finished for her. She breathed deeply and sighed, perfectly content. “I love you.”

“I so love you,” Willow replied. She heard Tara giggle softly and in moments both women were asleep, wrapped up in each other’s arms.

Sara,

Well done. Way to steal my thunder (just kidding). ;-)

This update was totally fun. I always love the interactions between Willow and Anya. Blunt meets uncensored, fireworks ensue.

The rest of it was very well done. You've managed to convey the affection between two women as they explore each other for the first time. It's nice that they realized that they love each other. Major "awww" factor.

Hang in there and keep up the good work. I'm looking forward to see where this goes next. I'm still worried about that crystal in the sewer.

Ahh, all caught up. Sorry it took me a few days, but your updates come quick, and I’ve found myself with less time for reading lately. I think I just read all four chapters that I missed in one sitting :blush

So great, and I love the chemistry between this Willow and Tara. Their first kiss was so sweet and well done... and then later with the lovemaking...perfect.

You write Willow so well, and I find myself laughing out loud every time she goes into one of her little babbles. And I like Joan too... when she figured out that her name was really Buffy, but decided to keep Joan, cause she liked it better... that was just so funny.

Good job, sweetie. Can't wait for more. :peace

Rational thoughts, rational thoughts....What those is? Something I don't have now.
The beginning was funny. Anya should learn, that it's not wise to piss off Redheaded witch.
The lovemaking was...:drool Seriously, I can't make whole sentences about that part. I'm lucky if I can think, do I have next English or psyghology. Or maybe some more fic goodness ;-)

Hello !!

Yay an update :-D

Wow it was passionate ^^ But my favorite part? it was for Xander and Anya... well after Willow and Tara love making ;-)
Speakig of ther lovemaking, it was great but there's a thing I'm not sure to understand... :blush it's the bra... I mean, they were sleeping before, so why Tara wore a bra? and I think when Willow took of Tara's nightgown she saw Tara's full breats?
Tara’s breasts were exposed

anyway, it was really good to read their first love making they can remember.

What a way to wake up ^^

Thank you

Hey everyone. I'm not sure when Chapter 6: An Unexpected Visitor, will be posted. But I hope I can write more so that it can be posted sooner rather than later. Anyways, some replies...

dlline: Lol, steal your thunder? I don't really think that's possible ;-) Glad you enjoyed the Willow and Anya interactions, That was always one of the funniest things for me in the show, and I wanted that to stay even with their memories gone. I'm also happy you enjoyed Willow and Tara's love scene. It was tough to write something like that for the first time, but I think I'll get better with practice ;-)

I'm still worried about that crystal in the sewer.

I promise, all will be resolved in time. Thanks for the feedback :peace

Emms: No worries. The story isnt going anywhere :) I'm glad you enjoyed the Willow and Tara bits. Like I said above, it was sort of nerve-wracking writing that scene, but I'd like to think it's not bad for a first timer ;-)

You write Willow so well, and I find myself laughing out loud every time she goes into one of her little babbles.

Thankyou so much for that. I love Willow babble and I'm excited that you think I stick true to her. Once again, thanks for the awesome feedback.

Numen: Hehehe.

Rational thoughts, rational thoughts....What those is?

Thankyou! Nice to know I didn't do too badly. Glad you enjoyed it, and I definitely agree that Anya should learn not too piss of Willow. You'd think she would have by now... Darn amnesia ;-) Thanks for reading.

JujuDeRoussie: So, you liked the Xander and Anya part? Well, yay! I loved them as a couple in canon, and I couldn't let them go too long without being together :). Looks like you caught me in a mistake. Truth be told, I was really nervous about writing this bit, so I'm surprised I only made one mistake, lol.

What a way to wake up ^^

Heheh. Either way, glad you enjoyed it. And thanks again for the feedback.

The Rose24: Awww, thankyou.

Although they have no memories, their souls still know each other and know exactly what the other needs.

That just seemed like such a sweet way of putting it. Thanks for reading :)

Time to reply to a couple more of the comments I recieved. I'm going to post chapter 6 tonight or tomorrow, but I want to let you all know that chapter 7 may not be posted for a week or two. Sorry about the wait, but writing has been slow going for me. Anyways, back to the comments.

river: Thanks so much for the compliment. Stick around for the next update ;-)

cantbefredless: Hehe, no worries on forgetting. I have a horrible memory. Glad you're loving it. Like I said to someone else, the Willow and Anya bits were always some of the funniest parts of BtVS, so I'm happy that you're loving them ;-) More coming to you in a bit.

Alright Kittens, here it is. Can't tell you when chapter 7 will be posted, but I can tell you to pay attention to the author's notes. Enjoy!

Title: Tabula Rasa Perpetua
Author: TazRaven
Distribution: Anyone who wants to use it, just ask.
Feedback: Yes, please. I love it.
Disclaimers: Willow and Tara and the rest of the Buffy gang and Buffyverse are not mine, but I wish they were.
Summary: The Buffy gang has to live with the effects of the Tabula Rasa spell a little longer than what originally happened.
Rating: PG-13
Timeline: Everything up until The Tabula Rasa spell is the same. The changes start happening a little bit into the spell.
Author's Notes: Cliffhanger ahead. Giving you fair warning since chapter 7 could be a couple weeks away.

Tabula Rasa Perpetua

Chapter 6- An Unexpected Visitor

Tara stood in front of a mirror, surrounded by what looked like a forest. She gazed at her reflection and moved her right hand. She smiled slightly when the reflection mirrored her movement. She continued to move her hand, and gasped as the reflection stepped out of the glass. “What-”

The Tara reflection stopped moving her right hand. She let the appendage fall to her side as she tilted her head slightly. “You don’t remember.”

Tara watched her reflection and shook her head.

“You can’t let her,” the Tara reflection continued. “This is a chance, to make it better.”

“What are you talking about?” Tara asked her counterpart.

Her reflection sighed and looked away for a moment. “It’s a chance to start over, to give her a chance to choose.”

Tara continued to stare dumbly at her doppelganger.

The Tara reflection looked back at Tara. “I’ll show you what will happen. What you forgot about her. So you can help.”

Tara continued to watch her reflection as the scene around her seemed to disappear. It was replaced by a heavy fog, and her reflection faded back into the glass. The mirror disappeared and Tara was left alone.

“Willow?” Tara wandered through the mist. She couldn’t seem to find Willow. Her girlfriend. Her lover. Her love. “Willow?” she called again. The call was met with silence. Tara felt her heart begin to race at the thought of losing her everything. She put her hands out in front of her as the fog became thicker. And suddenly, it cleared. Standing a few feet in front of her was Willow. And yet…

She walked towards her, a smile forming on her face at the sight of her beloved. As she closed the distance, the smile turned into a look of pure horror. She stopped moving. This wasn’t Willow. Not at all.

Willow smiled, but it was not a pleasant face. She looked almost entirely the same as her Willow. The same red hair and alabaster skin, the same cute nose and perfect mouth. But her eyes. Those were not the green eyes of the one she loved. They were black, and seemingly endless. Those onyx eyes held no love or compassion. Willow reached out her hands and Tara pulled away, terrified of what she was witnessing.

But she couldn’t get away. She tried to move her feet, but her brain would not obey. Willow’s hands moved closer, until she could feel the tips of her fingers resting on her temple. She could feel her there, trying to push inwards. Trying to force her way inside of her mind. Tara screamed.

-----------------------

“Willow!” Tara screamed and bolted upright in the bed. She was breathing heavily and a light sheen of perspiration covered her face. From beside her, she felt Willow stir, woken by Tara’s exclamation.

“Tara? What’s going on?” Willow blinked her eyes sleepily and sat up. She put her hand on Tara’s shoulder and pulled closer. “Are you alright?”

Tara’s breathing slowed and she smiled at Willow. “Ya, I guess so.” She took a moment to give Willow a small peck on the mouth. “Must have been a nightmare.”

Willow smiled slightly and leaned forwards. She pulled Tara’s lips into a kiss. “I love you,” she said, her mouth moving against Tara’s as she spoke.

“Mmm, I love you too.” Tara smiled again and attempted to deepen the light kisses. She moved her tongue across Willow’s lips and gently gained entrance to the soft haven of her mouth.

Willow returned the kiss and moved her other hand to Tara’s stomach. She slid upwards, reveling in the feel of Tara’s skin. She reached Tara’s left breast, and was just about to start massaging it as she felt Tara pull away.

“Oh, I’m sorry sweetie,” Tara said, after seeing the pout that had formed on Willow’s lips. “It’s just; it’s already nine-fifteen. The others will be here soon.” She smiled upon seeing Willow deepen her pout. “Ok, fine. Five more minutes.” She sighed contentedly as Willow’s hand continued its previous course.

-----------------------

Forty minutes later, Tara and Willow were still no closer to being ready. Tara moved her hand from the back of Willow’s head and moved it to her breast. She felt Willow gasp into her mouth as her hand squeezed the soft flesh under it. Neither woman heard the knock on the door. They also didn’t hear the corresponding creak that came with the opening of their bedroom door. However, they did hear the next thing quite clearly.

“I knew it! I knew you two were having sex!”

Tara turned her head and her jaw dropped at the sight of Anya standing in their doorway. Her eyes widened and she let go of Willow’s breast before grabbing the sheets and hastily pulling them towards her exposed flesh, covering Willow in the process. Tara felt her face turn bright red from embarrassment, and turning to glance at Willow, she found her in a similar state, though for a very different reason. Willow’s face was bright red with anger.

Just as Willow was about to open her mouth and let loose a long string of colorful words, Joan ran in and grabbed onto Anya’s arm, pulling her from the room. She closed the door on her way out and a muffled apology from the Slayer could be heard. Tara breathed a sigh of relief and chanced another look at Willow. While her face hadn’t returned to its original color, she did seem slightly more relaxed with Anya gone from the room. Tara passionately pushed her lips against Willow’s in an effort to calm the red-head. It worked, and as Tara pulled away, she was happy to see the look of pure annoyance on her face had been transformed into a dazed one.

“I think maybe we should get ready now,” Tara said, unwilling to have their snuggle time interrupted again. Willow nodded mutely, still slightly dazed from the passionate kiss. Before Tara could leave the bed, Willow pulled her down one more time to return the favor. She rose from the mattress with a smug grin, her previous anger forgotten, as Tara was now the one wearing the dazed look.

-----------------------

Willow and Tara walked down the stairs, their conjoined hands swinging slightly as they stepped. They entered the living room and sat down on the sofa, their hands still intertwined and their thighs now touching. Joan smiled at the couple and then lightly elbowed Anya in the ribs.

“Ouch!” Anya yelled at Joan before remembering what she was supposed to be doing. “Alright. Fine. I’m supposed to apologize-” A glare from Joan cut her off and she started again. “I mean, I wanted to apologize. I shouldn’t have walked in on you while you were in bed. Not that I did anything wrong anyways. I knocked. You really should have heard me. It didn’t look like you two were at the part with the screaming orgas-”

Joan clamped her hands over Dawn’s ears while Alex clapped his hand over Anya’s mouth. “Hey!” Dawn said, disappointed at not being able to listen to the conversation. A muffled exclamation was also heard from Anya.

“Um, research?” Alex smiled sheepishly, his cheeks slightly pink with a faint blush. He didn’t think it was a good time to share the news about the engagement between him and Anya.

Willow nodded her head slowly, still slightly in shock from Anya’s attempted apology. Tara was hiding her face in Willow’s shoulder, and even though her face could not be seen, it was evident she was blushing, as her ears were bright red.

For the next couple hours, the entire group read. They looked through at least a dozen books, trying to find a solution for their group memory loss. After a little while, Alex and Anya left to go pick up Rupert from the hospital.

-----------------------

“Bloody hell! I’m fine!” Rupert was sick of being poked and prodded. He knew what had happened to him, and wished that Anya hadn’t called the hospital after the incident. The nurse that had been trying to take blood from Rupert’s arm dropped the needle. It fell to the ground. Rupert sighed. “Please, my fiancé is coming to pick me up very soon. I’m quite alright.”

The nurse stared at him for a moment, and then decided it was too much trouble for what she got paid to go get a new needle and take blood from someone so irate. She nodded her head and shrugged her shoulders before picking up the needle and leaving the room.

Rupert smiled slightly at the battle won and got up from the bed. He dressed in the clothes he had been wearing when he arrived at the hospital, and then waited for Anya to show up. Rupert was still irritated at Anya. She had knocked him out with an irresponsible spell, and then knocked him out again with what he slightly remembered as a bed pan. He had only been waiting for a couple of minutes at most when Anya walked in, directly followed by Alex.

After a few minutes of a confusing and slightly heated discussion, Rupert had to admit that losing Anya to Alex wasn’t as bad as he thought. In fact, he was actually relieved. At least he wouldn’t be knocked unconscious so many times.

-----------------------

Alex, Anya, and Rupert piled out of the car. On the way back from the hospital, Anya and Alex had given him an update on everything that had been happening. He had turned an interesting shade of pink during Anya’s recount of Willow and Tara, but did find it interesting that they were both witches. Rupert looked up at the house and smiled. The house had a warmth that Rupert couldn’t explain, but thought that perhaps it was just infinitely better than the cold hospital. Rupert entered the living room and felt a smile slide onto his face. The rest of the group was still researching, and the sight of a table full of books and avid readers made his heart warm. It seemed familiar in a way; almost comforting.

He sat down in the large arm chair near the couch and greeted everyone before picking up the nearest book entitled A Practical Warlock’s guide to the Magical Mind. After only what may have been a half an hour, Rupert took in a shocked breath.

“Good lord. I think I’ve found something.” Rupert looked up from the book he’d been reading and smiled. The others in the group looked up from their readings and gave him their attention. He was obviously excited about the find. “There seems to be a ritual that two magically inclined people can perform that may help us regain our lost memories.” He paused and looked at Willow and Tara. “Would you two mind taking a look at this?” He passed the book to Willow without waiting for an answer and waited for her and Tara to read the spell.

“This looks doable,” Willow said. She smiled at Tara and the blonde returned it. Tara squeezed Willow’s hand and nodded her head.

“Well then, perhaps you and Tara could perform the ritual at the Magic Box. Joan could go with you-”

“Buffy,” Joan interrupted.

Willow looked through the book Rupert had handed her and frowned. “Wait, what’s a Buffy? I didn’t read that anywhere…”

Buffy smiled. “No, it’s not part of the ritual. It’s my name. Buffy.”

“Oh,” Willow said. She smiled after a moment and laughed. “And I thought Willow was a funny name.” She was silenced with a look from Tara. Willow smiled guiltily and tried to fix the situation. “I mean, cool name Buffy.” She giggled again, but managed to do so quietly.

“The spell is slightly advanced, but I think both of you may be able to handle it. Perhaps one of you could lend the other her energy?” Willow and Tara talked quietly for a moment, and it was decided that Tara would anchor Willow, while Willow performed the spell.

So, it’s settled then?” Rupert asked the group. “Anya, Alex, Dawn, and I will stay here to do more research, in case this spell doesn’t work.” Willow and Tara nodded their consent, as did Buffy, the Slayer formerly known as Joan.

-----------------------

Willow and Tara sat in the back room, their fingers intertwined and their minds focused on the task at hand. The room was dark, save for the light of a few flickering candles. Buffy sat just outside the room, not wanting to disturb the ritual. Willow had her eyes closed, as did Tara. Their breathing was in sync, and though they did not know it, their heartbeats were as well.

Tara was focused on trying to lend her energy to Willow. She thought about her love the red-headed witch, and without realizing it, her mouth upturned into a smile. Willow felt the burst of energy from Tara and smiled; it was almost like a mental hug. She centered herself and tried to take in the energy and push it out again. The spell required a good amount of power, and so they kept still. For half an hour, Tara pushed her energy out towards Willow and Willow in turn pushed it into the spell. Finally, the amount of energy flowing through her was enough. She was also concerned that if she didn’t start the spell soon, Tara would become too tired to keep her anchored. Willow began to speak the words of the spell, consciously pushing the energy flow towards her heart.

“Powers and emotions tied, a witches heart is where it hides.” She paused for a moment and let the energy wash over her. She began the second part of the incantation. “Help her through her agony, bless her with her memory.”

Willow wasn’t sure what was supposed to happen with the completion of the spell; whether her memories would return immediately or not. However, she did feel something. She felt a small amount of energy from across the room. The energy grew, and a light began to shine. A small gust of wind rushed around her, blowing her hair slightly. She opened her eyes and took in a breath. The wind had stopped, and the light no longer shone, but she could make out a figure from across the room. Buffy felt it as well, and as if sensing Willow’s confusion, entered the room and walked the few feet to Willow’s side. Willow squeezed Tara’s hands once and pulled her upwards, until they were both standing, the Slayer at their side.

Buffy walked over to the light switch by the doorway and flicked it up. Her eyes reacted to the light and she blinked to re-adjust her retinas. Willow and Tara were once again holding hands, but there was something wrong. There was a man in the room now. He had dark greasy hair, and an unnatural looking face. But it was his eyes that stood out the most. They were pitch black.

Tara gasped as part of her dream came back to her. She looked at Willow briefly, and breathed a sigh of relief as she found her love’s green eyes staring back at her. They both turned once more to look at the new arrival. He smiled gruesomely and turned his attention to Willow. “Hello, strawberry.”

Have I told you how much I love your story? If I haven't, well, I love it! :pinky
Now Anya should learn, that if you want to enter Willow and Tara's room, you should knock on the door *really* loudy. But *not* to knock the door off, either.

Somehow this just lauch me to laugh like madwoman.

And Rack at the end....Well, I didn't know I knew so many curse words in Finnish and English (oky, there may have been some words in Japanese and Russian)

*Starts to set up camp and waiting for next update*

Hello!!

Woow Rack?!!!! I mean... Rack? :shock

I really like Tara's dream... another chance... :-)

oh and very funny the anya-walk-in-the-room-while-they're-having-a-good-morning-make-out-session ^^

Truth be told, I was really nervous about writing this bit, so I'm surprised I only made one mistake, lol.

Beside this little mistake it was well written ;-)

Thank you, now I know we have to wait patiently, so I'm waiting really patiently like a good kitten ^^

Rack is never a good thing.

The girls are beautiful together, and I love how Giles senses a comfort with the group.

Y'know I feel a little bit sorry for Spike (wow, never thought I'd say that). Here they are, all stuck in this traumatizing amnesiac situation where they all are kind of relying on each other to get through it, and Spike is automatically relegated to the role of outsider. I'm glad he is making some sort of a connection with Buffy, but I'm curious what he's doing and how he's coping in all the time he's spending away.

The dreams are interesting. Are they subconscious? Are they magical? I look forward to discovering more.

Thanks

Feedback reply time. Sorry avid readers, but I'm still not sure when chapter 7: Choices, will be ready for posting. Anyways, back to what I came here for...

The Rose24: Hey :) Thanks for the feedback.

I wasn't expecting Rack to be in this story.

You know, oddly enough, I wasn't either. When I first started writing this story, I wasn't sure what I was gonna do with it. Lol. Sorry for the cliffhanger, but it will be resolved with the appearance of chapter 7 ;-) Thanks again for reading.

cantbefredless: Hiya. By the way, have I told you that I love your name? So true. Fred was awesome. And of course, if that's not what your name means, then just color me stupid and hit me on the head. Off topic. Anyways, Yup. Cliffhangers are fun. Hehe. I'm glad you love it. I'll explain Racks involvement in due time, but he hasn't necessarily met her yet. Just keep that in mind.

i thought i would be Dawn but i loved the fact it was Anya walking in on them!

Nah, I couldn't do that to an impressinable teenager. Then again, I really shouldn't have tortured our favorite couple with Anya's presence either, Hmmm. Thanks for the feedback.

Numen: Hey Numen :)

Have I told you how much I love your story?

I'll tell you what. Even if you have, never hurts to hear it said again ;-) Well, Anya should learn, but I doubt she ever will. That's the great thing about Anya. Seems like all the software is there, she just doesn't want to use it ;-)

Somehow this just lauch me to laugh like madwoman.

Hehe, well thankyou. To be honest, it made me laugh too :laugh Curse words for Rack huh? Well, you might want to find some more, because his part's not over yet ;-) Thanks again for reading.

JujuDeRoussie: Hehe, hi! Yup, Rack. I mean Rack. I'm glad you liked Tara's dream. I was debating whether or not to have something like that in there, but I thought it fit well. Plus, it gave me a chance to play with dream sequences ;-) Thankyou again for the kudos on the lovin' scene.

so I'm waiting really patiently like a good kitten ^^

Waiting patiently huh? Hehe, good kitty. Thank you for the feedback.

Tujeky: Hey Tujeky.

Rack is never a good thing.

No arguement there. He's an evil jerk. But, he's part of my plot line, so... Thankyou for the compliment. I love our girls. Giles' sense of comfort in the group makes me happy too. I wanted the characters to retain their identies, and they all have an innate sense about what's going on. I guess that's how I interpereted the spell.

Y'know I feel a little bit sorry for Spike (wow, never thought I'd say that).

Lol. Well, I can tell you that Spike will be present in the story, but I can't tell you how or when.

The dreams are interesting. Are they subconscious? Are they magical?

Interesting that you thought they might be magical. When I wrote them, I thought they were a little of both. What I can tell you, is that no one is actively using magic on Tara to make her dream. Thankyou so much for the feedback. And thanks for reading.

Sara,

Great update. Sorry for the late response, but I was out of town for the weekend.

You have the nerve to poke me about my bad guy, and then you drag in Rack?
Girl.... BAD is a cub scout compared to Rack. Well done!

Keep going. I really need to see what this SOB has up his sleeve.

Hmm, I'm hoping the "What's a Buffy?" was a deliberate reference to the first ep[siode of Family Affair, keeping in mind what Mr. French's first name was.

And just how does Rack now about "strawberry" in this ocntinuity.

Hmmm, curiouser and curiouser...definitely want to know more.

Oooh, more replies. Still working on chapter 7 folks.

dlline: Hey Diane :) No worries for a late response.

Hehehe. Ya, I know. But if you think about it, we don't actually know if Rack killed anyone. Seems BAD already took away his merderous ambiguity. But either way, Rack is definitely not a good guy. I'll hopefully have an update soon. Thanks for reading!

DaddyCatALSO: Hiya :)

Not deliberate at all actually. To be honest, I have no idea what you're taking about, lol. But I'd love to find out, hehe.

That question will be answered in the next chapter. Thanks for the feedback.
