I saw the "announcement" last night at a theater. This movie looks so cool. The theater I was in whooped it up when they realized what it was. Ha, only a year to wait. :-|

I love transformers, both the toys and the cartoon were amazing and still are to me in so many ways, kind of like GI Joes but cooler.

This movie could be awesome, but I can already spot major flaw in it, the fact Micheal Bay is directing it. Maybe this will be the movie that he finally comes through on a great plot, but I'm not about to hold my breath on that one.

I'm pretty bummed out that they aren't using the G1 Transformers as the models for the film, but I can understand the mentality of the progression. I'm also concerned about the Michael Bay aspect of the film, but I will save my final judgement until I've actually seen the film.

What bugs me about that teaser trailer is that they used only the Autobot logo... the only Transformer we "saw" didn't seem to be friendly, which would make me think it fell into the Decepticon camp. Plus, the Decepticon logo is much more menacing looking (for obvious reasons) than the Autobot logo. Just a werid choice, in my opinion.

Well, when it comes to Transformers, the Autobots are the more well known faction, what with Optimus Prime being the Transformer most people easily identify with.

And speaking of which, I was SO hoping that somebody would make a thread about this. I'm probably the board's biggest Transformer nut. (Anyone check out the site listed in my profile? I helped put that together.)

Have you ever been to BotCon? I haven't (more of a GI Joe fan than a Transformer fan), but I've heard it's TF-nerd paradise. I have a good friend who goes every year (don't remember where it's going to be this year... I can find out for you if you'd like), and he even ran his own TF-con last weekend in Indianapolis (I was supposed to go down and help, but couldn't get the time off of work).

I understand your point about the Autobot logo... but I'm still kind of irked by it. Doesn't make sense, and I think people who are "in the know" about such things (i.e., the target audience for the film) are thinking the same thing.

Nope. Never been to Botcon (I live in Canada). But I have read about it. I SO want the Ultra Jetstorm Cyclonus from the 2002 convention.

Have you seen the pics of the upcoming Botcon pre-BW set?

As someone who is very much in that camp, I can say that you're wrong. At least, as far as I've seen. And I happen to post on one of the biggest Transformers sites out there.

I have quite a small group of TF friends (don't hang out online), so my cross section is definitely not a good diverse selection. But out of the five of us, four of us would have preferred the Decepticon logo.

If another teaser trailer is released, I'd like to think they'd use the other logo. But I'm certainly not going to lose any sleep over it if they don't.

Well, if you want to see the 'con logo, you should check out the official site. They've got icons and wallpapers up there now with the Decepticon logo.

Oh I'm quite familiar with it... I just mean if they're showing what looks to be a a "bad" robot attacking the rover, the Decepticon logo should have been flashed instead of the Autobot logo. Just a bit of personal preference, but it doesn't change how I feel about the film (which is cautious, but hopeful).

I see Frenzy, but no mention of Soundwave. Um, does that mean Frenzy is no longer a cassette tape? Personally I'd rather have Frenzy remain a tape and have Soundwave in the film.

Frenzy is replacing Soundwave, since they couldn't find a realistic way of getting Soundwave into the film.

Bummer. I do find it funny that they (meaning the filmmakers) have issues with things "making sense" in the film (trying to maintain a sense of realism in a Transformers movie strikes me as silly).

Apparently, the filmmaker's issues with having things make sense extends to the look of the characters, too. Because, according to Michael Bay, this is what Megatron should look like.

WARNING! IF YOU HAVE ANY HOPES FOR THIS MOVIE THAT ARE GOOD, DO NOT VIEW THE PIC! YOUR OPTIMISM WILL CRUMBLE FASTER THAN THE TITANIC!

After watching the new full-length trailer I think this movie may be one big shit-fest. I share the concerns expressed by other fans that the movie looks to be concentrating on the relationships of the human cast in the face of the giant robots invading earth.

WTF! Who the hell wants to go to a transformers movie to watch fracking humans interact???!!! In the cartoons, humans were mostly faceless little men in tanks that got blown up - it should stay that way. I think I'll just go and watch the REAL Transformers movie on DVD again.

Alcy, if you still feel that way, may I suggest that you check out the latest trailer. If you still feel that way...well, there's nothing that can really change your mind now, is there?

I saw the movie few days ago. How? I live in South Korea and my ex is a film journalist. That's how.

I was little disappointed because the robots are... too similar to each others! They are just bunch of big machines. It doesn't looks like fight. It is more like a disaster. But I like the little one called frenzy. Think about the smart little raptors in The Jurrasic Park movies. Bumblebee was cute and I liked some other decepticon robots but the action scenes were just soso. Specially the climax scene.

BTW, I saw Megan Fox at the Junket and she was hot.

Meet the real Bumblebee.

Okay Sithy, I do stand corrected..it was an okay movie...

...okay in terms of me going to see it four times at the movies, so it was awesome okay! :peace

Pesky little humans aside, the actors were okay but the real stars were the Transformers, I think right from the first transformation I was on the edge of my seat. I've read that some old school Transformers fans didnt like it for a number of silly little fanboy reasons but my brother and I were pretty big fanatics back in the '80s and we both loved it. I can't wait for a sequel

I don't know if I want to see this movie, my sister saw it when she went to Canada. ( like erm Gemma why on earth go on holiday to sit in a Cinema??? lol) but anyway I remember when I used to play with my brothers transformers ( that was the bonus about having a brother three years older than me I got to play with The TMNT figures, the cars and the Transformers and He man and then when I was done I would go back to the care bears and girlie toys lol) but what I am saying is that although this may seem lame I have a positive association of happier times when me and my bro used to play with Transformers and I don't want the movie to spoiil that so I am unsure about it...

Glad to see you came around, Alcy. Any theaters near you doing the IMAX release? And are you gonna get the score and DVD when they come out (October 9th and 16th, respectively.)

We don't have an IMAX theatre in the city where I live so I don't think I will be getting to see it in that format but I will be pre-ordering my DVD...after checking whether it will come out in New Zealand at the same time as the States, I might have to order it off Amazon if it doesn't!
