So Fox gives Joss millions and millions of dollars so he can make the most expensive episode of television in the history of television, the resulting episode is so bad Fox makes Joss go back to the drawing board. Fox publicizes the series like a flagship show yet it still pulls low ratings on a consistent basis.

And Joss says that the show was "shamefully mistreated" by Fox? WTF?

Oh yeah, wait a minute. I don't care.

Joss had a show called firefly?? I didn't know that!! Did they advertise it?? Did they even do any interviews on it?? Where was the publicity about it?? I didn't see it!! Never heard anything about it. They must not have wanted anyone to know about it.

Well, if it was cancelled, it mustn't have been any good... so, hurray, it's gone....

And adding more insult to injury, is joss' interview with Cinescape.com pleading (again) for people to watch Firefly. If any fox exec caught sight of it, the article may have more or less been the straw that broke the camel's back.In it Joss blames Fox for the show's poor ratings. LOL-blaming the studio for not marketing your show correctly AND you're surprised they cancel it!?!

Three rules of film:
1) Never p*ss off the producer
2) If you're the producer - never p*ss off the network.
3) If you're a network - never p*ss off your viewers.

Networks will kill a show when stuff going on behind the scenes is going to cost them money: um like say a producer whose fan appeal is dropping like a rock because the product they've paid him mega bucks to deliver is garbage and is so low in the ratings they can't attract advertisers on any of your shows (other than 2000 Flushes) and are losing their shirts.

it's not about the "art" man, it's about the money - can't deliver the audience and you're yesterday's news. Gee, now think of all those viewers you p*ssed off with Season 6 and you wonder your ass is on the block why? Oddly enough, the viewers still like the actors, they'll all have jobs next year, but where oh where will you be.

LOL.... I really "like" Joss' use of the words "mistreated shamefully" in his little diatribe. Wow, was that ever funny. I'm really trying to not go to the Firefly boards for a laugh, cause if I go, I'll wanna post. My post would *not* be becoming of a Kitten, lol. Anyways, I feel bad for the cast and crew, as some others have posted, but hopefully they can salvage the show as an "experience". Anywho, off to sleep for this girl.

Yeah, I read his little outburst. I have no sympathy for him. I watched the show. Well okay, technically I fell asleep watching it, but what does that tell you? It was just not a good show. Period. End of story. It deserved to be cancelled. It would have failed at ANY time slot because it SUCKED. Fox did nothing wrong, Joss. You created a crap show. Deal with it.

I felt very happy about this earlier but now as an acotr I feel sorry for the actors but not for Joss, blaming the network, how 'um, cliched!, who would a thought Joss would use cliches?
