[b:0ddfbc7a29] Sally![/b:0ddfbc7a29] What, Mike didn't sing "Puberty Love"?!? Or that song with that line, "We gave 'em Alabama and they gave it right [i:0ddfbc7a29] back[/i:0ddfbc7a29]"?

[i:0ddfbc7a29] Toxic Avenger[/i:0ddfbc7a29]...that's good, too. And [i:0ddfbc7a29] Reanimator[/i:0ddfbc7a29] and [i:0ddfbc7a29] Bride of Reanimator[/i:0ddfbc7a29].

How could I have forgotten [i:0ddfbc7a29] Frankenhooker[/i:0ddfbc7a29]?!? "Wanna date? Wanna date? Wanna date? Wanna date? Wanna date?"

I need to just stop now because this could go on all day and I need to go find someone to come out to.

Still hoping everyone's having a happy Friday.

I would have to say Jeepers Creepers... to agree with whoever pointed this out as a BAD BAD LOUSY STUPID movie... me and my friend were verbally misbehaving while watching it in her room. We got so irritated with the actors that we HAD to finish watching the movie... :lol cos... watching it on VCD... after the first disc.. it was impossible to let it go and stop our rather colourful language and leave it hanging. :lol

My favorite bad movie is "Mystery Men," with Ben Stiller, Janeane Garofalo, Greg Kinnear, William H. Macy et al. It's awful but it just cracks me up... it's so silly you just have to roll with it. The husband and I have seen it a million times and know most of the dialogue. His favorite bad movie, and this is a REALLY bad one, is "Death Race 2000". Holy hell, that's a bad movie!

Okay, I must not have a bad movie detector b/c most of the bad movies listed I liked : [b:7bc9623b3e] Runaway Bride[/b:7bc9623b3e], [b:7bc9623b3e] American Pie[/b:7bc9623b3e], [b:7bc9623b3e] Jeeper's Creepers[/b:7bc9623b3e],[b:7bc9623b3e] Starship Troopers[/b:7bc9623b3e].

I also love [b:7bc9623b3e] Tremors[/b:7bc9623b3e] I have to watch it every time it comes on tv. Plus, it's Reba McEntire's first movie, who could resist watching her run around with really big guns?

More bad movies I like are [b:7bc9623b3e] The Blob[/b:7bc9623b3e] and [b:7bc9623b3e] Slugs: The Movie[/b:7bc9623b3e]. The slugs one is really funny, it's about killer slugs taking over a community, I love it.

[b:7bc9623b3e] The Goonies[/b:7bc9623b3e] really is a classic movie, I bought it on DVD too. And the girl that played Andy, Kerri Green, really looks good now that she's older.

[i:cf9d421379] *sigh*[/i:cf9d421379] First, Im gonna gripe. Another person was shot and killed by the sniper this morning at a gas station. Its getting to the point where Im afraid to stop for gas anywhere in the DC area. Ive literally narrowed my gas station choices down to one place that is far from an interstate and is heavily insulated. Im starting to yearn for the day when the gas station attendants would come out and pump it for you.

Okay, Im done - on to bad movies: the worst at the theater was First Family with Bob Newhart and Gilda Radner. And the worst on video was A Beautiful Mind because it was so different from the book. John Nash was not that likeable in the book, believe me.

I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable weekend. Let's be careful out there. :)

Tulipp, I love [b:019155e18f] Aspen Extreme[/b:019155e18f]! Every time it's on I'm like, compelled to watch. I love how the badass skier chick is Anna Devane from General Hospital (and now, All My Children, if I'm not mistaken).

True story: at my college graduation, my mom came out to Utah and we went for a road trip down to Bryce Canyon National Park. Big fun, gorgeous views, right? Wrong! There was a freak snowstorm and visibility was about 6 inches. You couldn't see a freakin' thing. So we spent all out time in the lodge eating fancy meals. One night I nudged my mom and said, "Look! Finola Hughes is at the table next to us!" And she said, "Who?!" I said, "You know, [i:019155e18f] Anna Devane[/i:019155e18f]!!" It was too funny. Her and all that snow...I felt like I was in the movie.

And now I think I'll trudge off to the uncool thread, because I just realized that I actually knew Finola Hughes's name. And that is NOT COOL.

[b:12fb98199d] Scout[/b:12fb98199d], I heard about that sniper this morning. I hope they catch him soon, but I think the media may be hindering the chances of catching him. They know he watches the news, so why would the news say "there is a road block here" looking for the suspect. I guess I just don't understand that.

I generally avoid what i can tell will be terrible, or what i know from reputation (or obviousness) will be a crap movie, cuz i'm kinda a flick snob. film student and whatnot. i'm reallllly obnoxious, so i'm telling you now.
HOWEVER, i have seen my fare share of bombs anyway.
For instance, the ABSOLUTE WORST PIECE OF CRAP "How the hell did this get greenlighted? who was the exec at the studio? a five year old?" movie is [b:289a9f8d89] Mr. Wrong[/b:289a9f8d89] starring ellen degeneres, which came out and disappeared so quickly, at a point when i was too young to have amassed knowledge of reviews and whatnot, but so my friends and i watched on my birthday figuring "hey, ellen's in it. she's wicked funny. it's got to be amusing somehow." Oooooooooooooooh were we wrong. SOOOOOO idiotic. i couldve written that shit script was i was in third grade, and iwouldve known it wasnt very good. nonsensical, ludacris, pointless, AND Not Funny!
i dont know why its not on more "worst movies ever" lists.
Also, terrible terrible flick is [i:289a9f8d89] Urbania[/i:289a9f8d89], which had fairly decent indie flick acclaim, but it went haywire. for the first forty minutes i literally did not know what the point was. i didnt know what we were waiting to find out, though obviously there was [i:289a9f8d89] some[/i:289a9f8d89]thing to be found out. and then alloverasudden the whole plot changed from being kinda filled with urban myths, to a weird superviolent gay vengence rampage thing.
VERY WEIRD. made no sense and had nothing that even pretended to be a resolved ending. ohmygosh it was wretched.
peace

edited cuz i'm a moron.

Okay, I absolutely adore [b:ca1d329636] Grease 2[/b:ca1d329636]. The songs are naff, the acting is pants, it "stars" Maxwell Caulfield. The list just goes on and on.

But...god I love singing along to [b:ca1d329636] Cool Rider[/b:ca1d329636] and [b:ca1d329636] We're Gonna Score Tonight[/b:ca1d329636].

And Starship Troopers? That's a great film! As is Goonies. Ah, the diversity of the human race. 'Tis a wonderful thing.

CROSSWORLDS, with Rutger Hauer is one of the most bizarre, funnily confusing films I have ever seen. And THE MUMMY RETURNS is also brilliantly bad - the Rock as the Scorpion King has to be one of the most inspired casting decisions. Ever.

But SPICE WORLD, the Spice Girls movie, is actually the worst film ever made.

Final Destination. I saw that movie in Amsterdam, after vising quite a few coffee houses, and I absolutely loved it. Or Idle Hands. Or Office Space. or Detroit Rock City.

So, yes, today is National Coming Out Day, and the gay/lesbian group at my school is doing a worship service this evening. I'm telling my personal story. I'm nervous.

Postby poppyeleven » Fri Oct 11, 2002 8:26 am

Oooh, this is a great topic!

I think that the worst movie I have seen recently would have to be this thing with Dyan Cannon...MASTER OF THE GAME I think it was. The guy who runs my video store and his friend pretty much railroaded me into hiring it. Argh! It was appalling yet strangely compelling...anyone who thought that Dyan Cannon could pass for a 16 year old girl, well I'd say they had one too many cups of crazy that day. And I only watched the first part...apparently it has three parts or something. No thankyou.
But the worst movie I have ever seen would have to be TRUCKS. It was awful. All these trucks driving around by themselves, terrorising these people who apparently just built some houses and stuff in the middle of nowhere. There's even a Tonka Truck killing a postman, which if the whole movie wasn't so dumb really could have been quite funny. Stupid stupid stupid. And generally I love this kind of thing. In a bad good way if you know what I mean.

As for Willow and Tara, they probably have a bunch of really bad romantic comedies or something under the bed...you know, anti-hellmouth stuff.

MST3K!!! Woo-hoo! God, I miss that show. Oh, and I loved [i:d2632c9ca6] Goonies[/i:d2632c9ca6] when I was little. I watched it like thirty times. "Bay-bee ROOOOOOOOTH?"

"Best" bad movie ever: [i:d2632c9ca6] Clash of the Titans[/i:d2632c9ca6]. Who doesn't love claymation?

"Worst" bad movie ever: [i:d2632c9ca6] Pi[/i:d2632c9ca6]. Not pie as in American, pi as in 3.14159. A jillion times more horrible than any other movie on this thread, trust me. That's two hours of my life I'll never get back. I watched it several years ago with my college friends, and to this day we still all agree that it's the worst movie we've ever seen.

I agree. The media here has come under fire for giving away too much information. Youve got the media trying to top each other whenever something new happens and people are getting frustrated because at times it seems like their actions might keep the sniper from getting caught. The only thing I can hope is that the more he puts himself out there, the more likely someone will see something that could help identify him.

I heard something on the news today that was so heart wrenching. At a local school, a cop was escorting children from their cars into the school one at a time using his body as a shield to keep the children safe until they could get inside. As bad as it is for the adults, I cant imagine how much its scaring the children in this area. For me, thats one of the saddest things about this.

La - Good luck! I hope everything goes okay for you.

Okay I know this is a really, really bad movie but I just love it. Did anyone ever see Tank Girl? This is a regular in my VCR. The other movie that I'm ashamed to admit I like is the much mentioned American Pie. As for movies I really and truly dislike I'm going to have to go with John Wayne films. My Dad made me watch them over and over again as a kid. It left me with a deep hatred of cowboy films. Oh except, and I've just thought of another bad movie I like, The Quick and The Dead with Sharon Stone, Leonardo DiCaprio and Gene Hackman.

As for W/T I think they hide from people the fact that they spend Saturday afternoons feeding their secret love of Disney Animated Features. I can just see them singing along to Beauty and the Beast. :)

Well, I rented two particularly bad films last week, The Fast and the Furious and Double Jeopardy. Both massively boring. I spent the entire movie, each time, just fast forwarding through and I feel I missed absolutely nothing in doing so. Although, Jordana Brewster was pretty damn cute in TFATF, but I digress, those would be in the bad bad category.

I kinda liked Brotherhood of the Wolf. French film and the dubbing was pretty goodhehe. Was a little on the long side though. Ill add my voice to American Pie not being that great. Aly is the only reason I own THAT DVD.

One of my sisters had an unhealthy obsession with Grease 2 that I was continually slagging her about.

So it was with total humiliation that I learned one morning while suffering a thumper of a hangover that I had watched it the night before and sang along to the songs. Which I must have learned by osmosis because I'd never actually seen it before then.

Honestly, I only ever watched it drunk - very drunk. So that doesn't count, right?

Its not the easiest movie to find. I think that once Arnie made enough money he bought up as many copies of [i:9beb2b17b6] HiNY[/i:9beb2b17b6] as he could find and had a big ol' bonfire. But you must try to see it DrG, your life will not be complete until you do.

I also remembered another "so bad its good" movie I saw recently. Unfortunately, I can't remember its exact title. Its something like [i:9beb2b17b6] The Queen of Venus[/i:9beb2b17b6]. The plot is another one of those mid 50's to mid 60's "Group of all male astronauts travel to a planet made up entirely of women in high heels, plunging necklines and bee-hive hair-do's and show them how their oppressive matriarchy is so bad" movies. The sexism is so rampant that you have to laugh at how ridiculous it is. The absolute highlight though is that Zsa Zsa Gabor plays Venus' chief scientist. And yes, that does work about as well as you are assuming it does.

ETA: Ooh, ooh! Forgot to mention the single greatest Christmas movie of all time [i:9beb2b17b6] Santa Claus Conquers the Martians[/i:9beb2b17b6]! After all, what could be more heartwarming than teaching the Martians all about Earthly consumerism!
