Postby Still Waters Run Deep » Sun Jun 02, 2002 11:30 pm

Well, us lucky Kittens over in the UK get a [b:815b117482] whole two days off[/b:815b117482] to celebrate Queenies' 50 years as monarch of this septic isle.

So to join in the celebrations here's the W/T question of the day.

If our girls were resident in the UK at this time, visiting with Giles maybe, would they get into the festivities, and what would their thoughts on how things are done 'over here' be.....

Well my gf and I spent the weekend celebrating Queens in our own way... we watched the entire first season of Queer as Folk (US version) on DVD. Ohh that Melanie is a hottie :drool

Can't wait to see season 2 now.

Hope everyone had a great time whatever they were doing.
Oh and Lizzy wasn't actually crowned Queen until 1953, so we are celebrating a year early - we are actually celebrating the year her dad died... how freeky is that ! Still two extra days to spend home with my gal, do I really give a ****, nope :)

I think Willow would be downloading all the history onto her laptop, while Tara would find the British 'quaint' and no doubt would be queuing up with the population to see the big golden coach! We are a quaint bunch! So reserved, made to queue! My sweetheart, an American loving all our history and knowing more about it than I will ever remember, is watching the procession on the BBC as I type. What a great day! Happy Jubilee everyone!

Aahhh Jubilee holiday has just been two extra days tagged on the end of my previous weeks holiday (booked months ago to get over the W/T stuff which I did not even watch in the end!)

Back to work tomorrow. No more long daytime chats with kittens! AAAH How will I cope?!

Oh... and W/T? Well you know that the answer to all of these questions is "They have loving naked sex." So I will stick with a variation of that... their thoughts will be that "there is not enough loving naked lesbian sex going on and seek to rectify it."

Possibly on Giles's sofa.

Dr G Thanks for moving it. The other thread appeared right after I had posted mine.

Hmm. Naked sex on Giles' sofa. Cue hilarious results as he comes home unexpectedly and finds them *at it*.

As for the whole jubilee thing..well I expect Willow would have been in reserch mode to be fully up to speed on the ins and outs of it, for purely cerebral reasons of course, being an American she has to respect the idea of republicanism over a monarch, but secretly she loves the romance of it all.
Tara on the other hand would have a more emotional take, and would want to experience first hand the crowds, the occasion, and just soak up the whole thing. She would be big on the romance of it too, but unlike Willow, would'nt care who knew.

Well, I didn't have monday or tuesday off, seeing as I'm in Korea, but tomorrow are nation-wide exams for high school, so I'm just proctoring exams instead of teaching, and Thursday we have off for some sort of national holiday, though I'm not positive what it is (and I just looked at my calender to see if it said why we have thursday off and noticed that it's still on May, oops :grin ).

Have a terrific Tuesday everyone!

Willow and Tara would definitely get into the Jubilee celebrations.

They'd probably see it as being terribly quaint and want to drag Giles along to all the processions.

But he'd probably refuse on principal. He doesn't strike me as a Royalist for some reason.

Nice of Queenie to give us a few days off. I'm off until Thursday so I'm all with the woo and the hoo.

One downside - my mother has put a picture of good old Liz in our front window.

She grins out at me every time I come through the gate. The flags I could deal with, y'know, 'cos I could tell people they were for the World Cup.

But saying "No, no, it's Becks, honestly" just doesn't seem to fool people.

Ho hum.

Since Tara seems to be really interested in England, i could see her taking part in the festivities, Willow doesn't seem all that interested in England.
Since i don't have to work today, i am going to the beach later, hope everyone has a wonderful day today.

Hmmm... not sure if this deserves a new thread, haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but, it IS Wanda after all :puke , so I thought I'll put it here in the daily thread first, if the mods think it should be on a thread by itself...

Okay, over at eonline, www.eonline.com/Features/...tml?fresh, Wanda's got her end of TV season 'awards' thingy, I kinda was curious as to what categories she had come up with.

Of note, she had Tara's death a nominee for Biggest Tearjerker, Warren shooting Buffy and Tara got a mention in Biggest Shocker, Buffy the show itself got nominated in Biggest Disappointment. Willow/Alyson also got a couple of mentions in like Biggest Bitch (or something like that), Best Fight (vs Buffy), etc.

Just thought some Kitties might be interested in bombarding her 'poll' for the first three categories that I mentioned (downside to that is the fact that you have to vote in her other 'categories').

BTW, there was a category for Best Kiss but Willow and Tara were not nominated :miff .

Hehe Liz. Thanks for the link. I'm looking forward to the MTV movie awards, they're always fun.

What's up with the background dancers wearing fluffy golden cloud type things? They look oddly like Lumiere from Beauty and the Beast. Heh.

Yanno, Jack Black existed mostly outside my media radar until I saw him host SNL this season. I was really impressed by his comedic and musical range. Pretty cool in my book.

So you lucky UK Kitties got two days off. Damn.
I've been digging for two days. We've been remaking/renovating a kindergarten yard and since I don't know my way with machinery, I've been shoveling.

Yesterday we managed to break a telephone line, it was repaired today, so this afternoon we had to break another cable. I'm not sure what it was, maybe power :)

As to W&T's getting into the Jubilee festivities Willow would begrudgingly be excited for Tara's sake. However, she fire up the laptop and learn all the information she could so she can understand what's going on, as well as impress Tara with her knowledge. Tara loving all things British would be overjoyed to be part of the festivities, as well as making Giles explain everything to her so she can feel the total experience of this event.

well lucky UK kitties than:) I could see W/T lounging around on the couch(lots of snuggles to be had by all) and sleeping in very late(for a very good reason;)

It was a work day for me, but since Im digging my new job(bather/brusher at a dog hotel) it's all with the goodness, my gf is recouping nicely from her bout with a lower intsetinal upset and my parents(spec my dad) is are being s*(0ts!! (grrrr). For some unknown reason he thinks that my gf is not be productive enough w/th her job hunting/house work (hello she's been really sick the past week and a half!) soo last night he threatned to make her go home(ie Northern calie to live with her parents) if she didn't quote "improve and meet his standards", I might add that my dad is codesending, treats my mom like crud(but than covers his tracks by being overtly nice) and is narrowly minded homophobic.

Sorry for the rant its my pms and Ive spent all day at work worrying if my gf was going to be ok(she had a doctors appoitment) and worry that if she was sicker than she looked that my parents would toss us out(I go where she goes, where a packaged deal baby); anywhoo I really need a long wknd after the past few days:(
Have a happy Tuesday Kitties

{{hugs for Aduka & gf}} - best o' luck 2 u both

My working day today included a 2-hour drive in the country, and in a Cliosport that probably counts as a holiday.

Has anyone else seen this link:

www.scifi.com/scifiwire/a...9/10.30.tv

IMO the headline "Buffy Trolls for Emmy" says it all :laugh

I think Willow and Tara would love London. Tara would hang at the British Museum for a week, W would go for the V & A, and they would both enjoy the odd cleansing pint.
