Tara resurrection theories…

Buffy stuff. Open to everyone now.

Re: Using Tara to Save Buffy at this Point

I was thinking of reversing the events of Buffy's resurrection to solve the imbalance mentioned by the First Evil so that the show would retroactively end with The Gift, but Normal Again is an excellent place to rewind the series back to as well.

I've been doing SSL certificates this morning too. I just wrote an expect script to generate self-signed certificates using openssl for my development servers which don't need known-CA signed certs. It's part of setting up an automated Apache system at home for me to get back into practice with as I look for a job after taking some time off.

Hello Kittens-

Bzengo, I'm still angry and hurting as well. I think ME should

end BtVS with W/T and the rest in happy circumstances if they ever want to do a movie-spinoff that will make enough to cover JW's car payments.

It wouldn't make up for the crap they dished out, but it would be a sop for the fans. I just fear it's going to be JFK:puke because they still don't get it.

Pens is my lifeline. I write, but mostly I read and remember.

deixs, I really like your normal again idea since I've always enjoyed that ep and the whole idea of the Slayers life as being in Buffy's head. I don't think it would be a cop-put at all since until I actually see how the series ends, nothing will be able to end it properly. Having everyone together again at the end while still incorporating perhaps a big big bad battle as part of Buffy's thoughts would work IMO.

bzengo, those season 5 eps were great, they embodied everything that we would want. Sometimes I still think ending the series after S5 would have been the best thing to do, W/T together, X/A together, Dawn safe, Buffy dying to save the world and finally finding her peace, would have been a very poignant and heartfelt ending.

Dreaming of DIY Resurrection

Postby Gatito Grande » Thu Mar 20, 2003 1:17 am

Like bzengo, I too wonder if I've gone off the deep end.

OK, we know :joss will never bring back Tara---and of course, on Pens she never left.

But what about something in-between? Unlike Willow, I am in no way a computer geek, and I couldn't afford the relevant technology even if I was. However, I wonder about those (Kittens?) who are, and what they could do.

I've been fascinated by this concept of DIY video, ever since I heard about something called "Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Edit." Apparently, some tech heads who couldn't stomach the cr*p that was that movie decided that they could do better. I'm guessing they did it by digitally manipulating DVDs?

We all can turn our tapes off at "that's the best part" but I'm talking about something more sophisticated. For example (and I only mention this as an example, not some new canon), what if one could digitally make Tara walk up the hill to DMW and the Satanic Temple? Have Tara (in Amber's voice) say something far more inspiring and comforting than anything about a yellow crayon? Most importantly, have Tara embrace Willow (throw in some smoochies at no extra charge!).

Could that be done w/ DVDs now? And if not, does anyone know when it could? (Are we months away, years?) Of course, there are other issues w/ digital manipulation of images (apart from financial considerations), as some people could make (or do make) them distasteful.

I ask these questions as someone who is entirely committed to, someday, personally redoing "Xena Warrior Princess" from front to back, to make the meta-narrative turn out exactly as I want it to!

GG Please, Geeky Kittens, answer my impassioned query . . . :pray Out

Hello Kittens-

:lol

I think that would get at least a 15 in the overnights, maybe higher. If we add the toad getting kicked into a swamp by an angry slayer achieving an impossible arc between two trees we might be able to pull in more viewers with a sports demographic.
